Homemade Hair Mask!

Hello Beautiful readers,
Today, I wanted to share one of my favorite homemade hair masks which I use once a week along with a plain coconut oil treatment. This is a really simple recipe with ingredients you can find all around your home! What you will need: 1 Avocado, 1/2 Banana, 1 Egg, 1-2 Tbs Honey, 2 Tbs Coconut oil. You can experiment with the mixture depending on your hair length, I would categorize mine as long and this is a perfect amount for me.
When you have combined all the ingredients blend it using a blender, ninja, food processor etc. You want it all to combine nicely. One of my favorite things about this mask is the texture, I've made other masks and they were either to runny, or chunky and it was not pleasant. This is a whipped texture that stays in your hair with no dripping and rinses out with no hassle.
Apply this mixture to hair until it is all covered, use a plastic bag to cover your head so the mask won't get on your towel, then wrap your head in a towel and let it sit! : )
I love doing this mask on a lazy day when I have no where to be, I am able to leave it in my hair for hours while cleaning, doing homework or watching a movie. You don't need to leave it in for long, just 20 minutes and wash it out. When ready to rinse use cold water then a hair cleansing shampoo, this will help rid the hair of build up from the mask, and other hair products, condition, and you will be good to go :)
If you can, let your hair air dry without brushing it. This will help restore your hair without breakage when your hair is wet.
Enjoy!

Healthy Delicious Brownies?! What?! YUM!

I have heard about avocado brownies, but they just did not sound appealing. I love healthy desserts, and I LOVE FUDGY Brownies but it can be difficult to achieve a healthy version for your sweet tooth! These are actually amazing, I judged and if I hadn't my sweet tooth and waistline would've thanked me awhile ago! The only advice I have is, eat them after they cool down, you won’t taste the avocado at all and the chocolate chips are still gooey! There is no butter or sugar in this recipe, but you would have no idea! With a large piece less than 150 calories your tastebuds will be jumping with joy!

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

What you will need: * 1 Avocado, 3 Medium Eggs (or Egg Beaters), 1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour, 1/2 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder, 1/3 Cup Boiling Water, 1 Tbsp  Vanilla Extract, 5.3 oz Chobani Vanilla Yogurt, 5 Packets Stevia, 3 Tbsp Dark Chocolate Chips, 3 Tbsp Honey, 2 Tbsp unsweetened Apple Sauce and ***Optional: 2-3 Tbsp Chia and Flax Seed Decadent Blend.
First you cut and dice the avocado, then crack the eggs and mix together adding the vanilla. I used my little blender then added it to a big bowl.
Next you want to add your unsweetened cocoa powder, Vanilla yogurt, Honey, flour and Flax/Chia mixture, applesauce, 5 packets of stevia and boiling water. You can then fold in your chocolate chips or place them on the top.
Grease a baking dish and pour the batter in, place them in the oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, smaller pan you'll have to keep them in a few extra minutes! To test if they are done, stick a knife or tooth pick in the middle if it comes out clean then they are done!

I'm sorry I don't have a picture of the finished product! They were made on a Friday night and were devoured on Friday night. My roommates loved them and I kept it to myself they had avocado until I knew they were a hit! They were so surprised, two people at my apartment that night hate avocados but really enjoyed the brownies (They had seconds!)
You will want to store these in the fridge, keeping them cold makes them last longer and enhances the chocolate in them! YUM!

Let me know if you've tried them, or what you think!! I would love to see your pictures! :)

Enjoy! Anna xx

FINALLY A (mini) BEAUTY HAUL!

Last night I went to Sephora, posted a picture on my Instagram, @BeautyyPieBlog, and my followers wanted to see what was inside the bag! I cant explain how excited I am about this buy, I've been wanting these three products for quite sometime and was finally able to purchase it all.

1. Clarins Eye Contour Balm: I've heard wonderful things about this eye balm. I was looking for one that wasn't very thick and would feel light on my eyes with no irritation. I am in my early twenties and experimenting with skincare products to discover what works best with my skin, and eye cream was one of the final products I needed to complete my regimen. Last night was the first time using it and I really enjoyed it! It was probably a mental thing for being so excited, but I thought the circles under my eyes looked lighter in the morning. ( I will write a review on this after I have properly used this product long enough to give a truthful review!)

2. Clinique Take the day off Cleansing Balm: The only thing I have to say about this product is WOW. I helped one of my roommates with a photography project where I was the model. I had to wear very heavy makeup (I'll attach the photo at the end of this post.) Normally, heavy makeup takes me awhile to remove it all, a total of face wipes, face wash, eye makeup remover etc. With this cleansing balm it took me less than 5 minutes to take it all off. I was speechless. I was also slightly hesitant on putting this on my face since I tend to break out easily, but it left absolutely no residue, and my skin felt great! If you want a full review let me know in the comments!! :)

3. NAKED 3 Palette: This needs no explanation. I have heard many people express their concern with this palette because of the pinks before buying this, then in Sephora, two girls were standing next to me expressing their dislike for  the pink coloring. I want to let you all know, pink and rose golds are not something to be afraid of, it wont make you look like you have an eye infection (I've heard this concern, too.)  Pairing certain colors would really enhance every eye color. If you would like tutorials for this palette, let me know in the comments!
I used this palette for my eye make up in the photo shoot project I mentioned above, and I was in love.

Thank you for reading! Have any of you tried these products? Which Naked Palette is your favorite?

Best Hair Products for Winter Weather

It’s during winter I am thankful for hair care products, especially when it is in the negatives, the air is very dry which leaves my hair a static, limp and lifeless mess. The three products I’m sharing with you are Josie Maran Argan Oil Hair Serum, AVEDA damage remedy daily hair repair and TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Leave-In Spray.

The Josie Maran Argan Oil Hair Serum, I apply after I shower when my hair is still damp. I place 3 drops in the palm of my hand and rub my hands together warming the oil. I then start at my ends and run my fingers through my hair, avoiding my roots because scalps produce natural oil. This oil is great and after using it since November I have noticed a difference in my hair. It is hydrated, shiny and easily manageable.

Next I apply AVEDA damage remedy, this stuff is a miracle. I color my hair and I find at times my hair finds it difficult, when I apply the damage remedy it really helps! It contains protein and this is needed for your hair to be strong and avoid breakage, split ends and brittleness. It also protects against heat, and smells amazing. It is a very fresh floral scent that takes you to the warm summer days… even in the dead of winter! I apply this right after the oil, when my hair is damp. I squeeze about a quarter size amount in the palm of my hand, rub together and apply to my hair. I am not afraid to add a small amount of this to my roots, it has never caused my hair to be greasy, just smooth, shiny, and smelling
great!

The last product I want to share with you is the TRESemme Thermal Creations, which is a leave in spray that works with heat to protect against heat damage. Yes, the AVEDA protects against heat, but I mainly use it for the protein, so the TRESemme is my main heat protector. It works wonders, fights against heat and makes my hair feel silky and full of life.  It smells incredible and I even use it when I am not using heat on my hair, and just let it air dry. This product is a must during the cold winter days, when I dry my hair quite often because I don’t want to freeze when I step out my door! I apply it right after the AVEDA damage remedy, blow dry my hair, and Ta-Da beautiful hair! I don’t battle frizz, static or breakage anymore!

If you use any of these products I would love to know! What are your favorite hair products?
